JV Baseball Team Explodes

The Junior Varsity Baseball Team exploded for 18 runs in 5 innings defeating Forest Hills Northern 18-3.  Zack Hekman pitched all 5 innings of a mercy rule contest to earn the win.  Ryan Fischer, Brian Cappiello, Brendan Kelly and Quinn Connor all had 2 hits each and Joey Malone drove in 2 to pace the hitters.

The JV Tennis team traveled to Hudsonville to battle the Eagles and the elements.  Both teams came in undefeated and that’s how they left.  Just as raindrops began falling the teams finished to a 5 to 5 tie.  The two teams meet again this Saturday at the Conference Tournament at West Ottawa. The JV baseball team got back on the winning track after a rough previous week beating league foe West Ottawa, 4-2.  Jake Blok went the distance on the mound scattering 6 hits while striking out 6 and allowing only one earned run.  Logan Kryska paced the hitters with 2 and 2 RBIs’.

Grandville JV water polo team defeated Forest Hills by a score of 12 – 2.  Kim Jaglowski had another great performance in the goal with 8 saves.  Scoring for the Dawgs were: Alie Kalsbeek5, Kelly Dietrich 3, Sydney Steele 3, Caitlyn Beyer 1.

Freshman Baseball Gets Another Strong Pitching Performance

The freshman baseball team turned another strong pitching performance by Brandon Hass and Caleb Winner into a 11-3 victory over West Ottawa.  The Bulldog bats hit the ball hard all day, although they didn’t break through with a big inning until the fifth, blowing what had been a 4-3 game wide open.
