The Grandville Girls Cross Country team competed in the Division 1 State Meet on Saturday at the Michigan International Speedway. By far the youngest team at the State Meet, the girls came in an impressive 19th place. Freshman Madison Troy was awarded All-State honors for her 13th place finish with a time of 18:15. Senior Allie Utting ran a personal best 19:18.5 for a 73rd place finish. Allie also was awarded Academic All State for her efforts on the course as well as in the classroom. Freshmen Isabella Moayer and Alaina Carpenter both finished the season with all-time personal best runs in 20:38 and 20:41, respectively. Sophomore Emily Sinclair ran a strong 21:11.5, while Freshman Sophie Kaminiski finished in an impressive 21:30. Freshman Katie Cornett finished with a great time of 22:21. The girls had an amazing race, and they hope to earn a spot at the state meet next year so they can experience it all over again. Congrats on an awesome season, ladies!
