Multiple Teams · Varsity Baseball vs. West Ottawa

The Varsity Baseball Team got thumped by West Ottawa 15-4.  The game was closer then the score and the boys didn’t play as bad as the score indicates.  It was West Ottawa’s day.  A lot of seeing-eye ground balls, little flares over the infield resulted in a lot of hits and lot of runs for the Panthers.  The Bulldogs on the other hand hit a lot of hard shots right at West Ottawa.  Not a lot of breaks for the Dawgs.  Mitch Dykstra pitched alright for the Dawgs, again better then it shows.  He went 4.1 innings striking out one and walking two to pick up the loss.  Cody Meyer and Jason Whipple came on in relief.  Dean DeVries continues to scorch the ball with three hits last night , all singles.  Mitch Dykstra also continues to hit well as he had two hits, a single and a double.  David Klunder had a two run single, and Tim Steffes and Mitch drove in the other two runs.  The Dawgs have the weekend off  and get back at it on Tuesday with a home game against Jenison.
